11 Mile Access to southbound I-75 will have intermittent closures throughout the construction season.I-696 eastbound and westbound to southbound I-75.9 Mile Road to northbound and southbound I-75.During this time, both directions of I-75 will be maintained on the southbound side of the freeway from north of 13 Mile Road to just south of I-696. Two lanes open in each direction, 8 Mile Road (M-102) to 14 Mile Road, through mid-November.Stay tuned for the completion of the reconstruction of this interchange. When this portion of the project opens to traffic in November, traffic from I-696 to northbound I-75 will utilize the new bridge over the 11 Mile Road exit, providing a safer operation. The northbound I-75 exit ramp to 11 Mile Road will braid under the new I-696 ramp to northbound I-75. The new I-696 to northbound I-75 ramp design will eliminate the merge/weave condition with the I-75 northbound traffic exiting to 11 Mile Road by separating the entrance and exit movements. Thanks to the crews hard work, we have been able to reopen this ramp to motorists two months ahead of schedule. To help facilitate the construction of the new braid ramp at the I-75/I-696 interchange, the westbound I-696 ramp to southbound I-75 had to be closed in early July.
